My name is Matt, and I started this challenge firstly for myself.
I was getting tired of the insecurity of being a freelance worker, so I had to do something with my life.
Most of the jobs in my niche (I am a paid media buyer/growth consultant) end after 1-2 years, so each time I lose a job, I have to think about my next move.
Usually, it is not scary as there is a big demand for my profile, but as I was approaching my 50s, I got a little scared.
The industry I work in is surrounded by young hustlers who can work 10-16 hours per day and learn things much faster than me.
They don’t have the experience like me, who has worked in the industry for 20+ years, but the internet is changing so fast that anything can be learned in 1-3 years if you really dig in.
My disadvantage is also my family. I have a wife and two kids. One boy is 15 years old and still figuring out if he wants to be like me, and the second boy is 12 years old. He enjoys boating with my little boat and helping me with my DIY woodcraft projects in my garage.
I believe family can be a disadvantage in today’s world of online entrepreneurship because you can’t work as much as you would want to. You have to dedicate time to your family, so it’s easy to get distracted or unable to work as much as those who don’t have families.
But! Family and valuable lessons you’ve gained in business and life will give you an unbeatable advantage. If you use them correctly, you can build a life on your terms and work with clients you want.
And that was the plan I wanted to follow in 100 days.
My idea for the 100-Day Challenge started because I wanted to create a shift in my life.
I wanted to go from Level 2 to Level 3.
Level 2 is not a startup anymore or a regular remote worker starting their career. It is a solo-entrepreneur or a business making $100k+ per year.
I was a senior media buyer who got paid an average of $7.5k-$10k per month for my expertise.
I worked with million-dollar companies in the eCommerce and SaaS space, which had the money to pay for their advertising costs and my services.
But replacing all that with your own business service that doesn’t require a lot of work from you is not a simple challenge to finish.
As I started to think about my life, how I want to work, and what I want to create in my next 100 days, I came to this conclusion:
MISSION 1 – I WANT TO WORK ONLY 2-4 HOURS PER DAY
MISSION 2 – I WANT TO WORK ONLY WITH TOP TIER CLIENTS
MISSION 3 – I WANT TO WORK FROM ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
To sum up, I need a job that will give me a $10k per month salary, allow me to work less, and provide me with the freedom to travel the worl with my kids and pursue passions I really enjoy.
As I thought more about this during the first days of the challenge, I realized I was onto something bigger than just a 100-Day Challenge.
I am at a specific crossroads in my life, where I need to use my wisdom and experience gained over the years and turn it into something very valuable.
I need to create a new chapter in my life!
So, I started to write a diary called ‘DIARY OF CAPTAIN MO.’
In this diary, I tried to remember the lessons and experiences I gained in my last 25 years while working in the online advertising industry. Plus I wanted to see if I can train AI to follow my creative writting by building customGPT workflows.
But that is not all! I wanted to include my biggest passions, my family, and all of you who might be struggling in life just like me and who have dreams and experiences they want to use to build something bigger.
